Multifunktional gedacht, dient das Möbel sowohl als Hocker, Beistelltisch oder auch als Nachttisch - zwischen den Sitzflächen lässt sich praktisch ein Kabel für Lampe oder Ladegerät durchführen.
Das Projekt ist eine Kooperation mit dem japanischen Möbellabel ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY, das 2011 nach dem Erdbeben in Japan eine Reihe minimalistischer, aber zweckmäßiger Möbel entworfen hat, deren Popularität zwischenzeitlich beachtlich ist.
SCHATZL stellt den Tripodal Stool MADE IN LOCAL MUNICH in Deutschland her, lizensiert durch ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY.
Ein relevanter Aspekt der Kooperation ist die Produktion nach dem Made-in-Local-Konzept. Möbel und Objekte werden dabei in kleinen Stückzahlen nach lokaler Handwerkstradition aus regionalen Rohstoffen hergestellt.
Der Hocker aus München ist nach klassischer Schreinerart ausschließlich mit Leimverbindungen konstruiert, aus warmer heimischer Lärche gefertigt und enthält keinerlei Metallteile.
Motiviert durch das Made-In-Local-Prinzip von ISHINOMAKI LAB, wurde dafür ein eigenes Maßsystem entwickelt, das sich vom Goldenen Schnitt ableitet und den Hocker etwas schlanker als das Original wirken lässt.
Die vermutlich faszinierendste Eigenheit ist die gebürstete Oberfläche, deren Rillen beim Berühren überraschen. Bei dieser Methode werden die weichen Anteile des Holzes komprimiert, während die harten Teile stehen bleiben. Jenseits des optischen und haptischen Effekts wird die Holzoberfläche dadurch hochgradig robust.
Um das leuchtende Orange der Lärche zur Geltung zu bringen und das Holz vor Flecken zu schützen, ist der Tripodal Stool mit einer Mischung natürlicher Öle eingelassen.
Der robuste und angenehm gravitätische Hocker ist ein Möbelstück, das in jeder Hinsicht geeignet ist, viele Jahre zu bleiben und bei Bedarf auch restauriert zu werden.
Der Tripodal Stool wird in Auflagen von wenigen Stück handwerklich im Herzen der Stadt angefertigt.

Designed to be multifunctional, it can be used as a stool, side table or bedside table - a cable for a lamp or charger can conveniently be passed between the seats.
The project is a collaboration with the Japanese furniture label ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY, which designed a range of minimalist but functional furniture in 2011 following the earthquake in Japan, which has since become extremely popular.
SCHATZL manufactures the Tripodal Stool MADE IN LOCAL MUNICH in Germany, licensed by ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY.
A central aspect of the cooperation is a production according to the Made-in-Local concept: Furniture and objects are produced in small quantities from regional raw materials according to local craftsmanship traditions.
The stool from Munich is constructed along traditional joinery principles using only glued joints, it is made from warm local larch and contains no metal parts. A special scale derived from the golden ratio was developed for this version, which makes the stool appear somewhat slimmer than the original design.
The probably most fascinating feature is its brushed surface, as the resulting grooves create a surprising sensual experience. Brushing compresses the soft parts of the wood while the hard structures remain. Beyond the visual and tactile effect, this makes the wooden surface extremely robust. To emphasize the bright orange of the larch and protect the wood from stains, the Tripodal Stool is treated with a mixture of natural oils.
The robust and pleasantly graceful stool is a piece of furniture that is in every respect suitable to last for many years and to be restored if necessary.
The Tripodal Stool is handcrafted in small editions in the heart of the city.
